Late Anniversary, Fake Valentines Day, and Pretend Sunday

The Chief and I decided to screw with dates and times this weekend to make it suit our schedules and needs. The first major change was reassigning our anniversary from the 8th to the 13th of February. The next date we changed was Valentines Day, from the 14th to the 13th as well. And if I do say so myself this plan was brilliant and worked out marvellously in our favour.

To celebrate the mish mosh of holidays on the 13th we choose to do our favourite restaurant and engage in our typical romantic behaviour. Finding ourselves a secluded booth we sat ourselves in the lounge. Curled up tight together, relaxing and enjoying the beginning of what ended up being one of the most perfect and amazing weekends of my life so far...

With drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert lasting well over three hours it was a marvellous evening of people watching, flirting and Olympics. Because lets face it. EVERYONE is watching at least SOMETHING from the Olympics. Our to die for dessert was shaped like little hearts, dripping with chocolate and whipped cream. Totally melt in your mouth decadently delicious. It was the absolute perfect choice for celebrating... anything! The waitresses are now learning to let us take our time, and recognize us, waving and the sort making it feel like "Our Spot". There is nothing more romantic than curling up in a booth in a noisy lounge, watching the Olympics and feeling like the whole world just... disappears when you're in someones arms. That is how it feels with the Chief in the loud dark lounge.

We went back to my place, and even though I knew the Chief wasn't staying much later than midnight I had my room all lit up with candles (the led changing colour variety) rose petals, crystals to make it sparkly, and his Fake Valentine's Day present. Totally cliched but cheesy in a romantic way. Even if he didn't think so, I was utterly impressed with myself.

After an incredible dinner we retired to my place to watch the Time Traveler's Wife. My choice. I cannot wait to go out and purchase the book. This movie was so absolutely heartbreakingly romantic I got all teared up and starting leaking on the Chief's pretty skull shirt. This is one of my favourite activities with the Chief. Sitting with my back facing him, tucked in against his body, and holding his arm close, running my fingers along his skin (Even tho he hates this. He fits it adorable but ridiculously ticklish and irritating). I felt my heart burst with my arms tangled up in his when Henry slips the ring on Clare's finger while she's sleeping and kisses it softly... oh! Just totally romantic. It was the perfect look at the trials and triumphs of a relationships. There wasn't a more perfect movie choice out there for our Fake Valentines day!

After the movie the Chief went home *sob* My parents were leaving ridiculously early the next morning so we decided to reschedule the rest of our evening until Sunday.  He returned for a home cooked-ish meal to celebrate real Valentine's Day and watch more Olympics. It was even a tasty meal and I think pretty medals were awarded. Anyway... supper. Be impressed. Usually my culinary skills are limited to cupcakes, and now Oreo Cheesecake. Mhmm, take a minute to revel in the awesomeness. I know I did :P And this is where the fun REALLY begins...

Read on to hear about Pretend Sunday :)
