Extra Long Chieftime

I have just returned from a lovely four day weekend trip with the Chief. This is the single longest stretch of being together that the Chief and I have spent together... ever. Even being in the same city we have yet to see each other for four consecutive days.

This package of Chieftime has brought me fierce joy in the realization that I actually do love spending time with him. Any kind of time. Not to mention the man helps with dishes!

We had the ability to attend a community event, get stuck in bad weather, have vehicle troubles, spend time with family, spend quiet time alone, cook meals, clean up, unpack and repack a travel trailer, fight about him and his Ex, hot sex encounters, and falling asleep/waking up beside him every single day for four days.

You learn a lot about people when you travel. You spend that much time locked up in the same small spaces and you're bound to find out things you didn't know before. Even it you learn it simply by observing.

For example. I learned that the Chief does not cook. At all. But he does offer to do dishes. He does not like big crowds of people, but compromises if it is balanced out with equal alone time. He has a hate-on for almost anyone but him that drives, most of the time. He can't eat and drive. He needs longer than I do to get ready to go in the morning. He needs transition time between one activity to the next. He hates having to keep quite and slow and steady during sex. These are small, random, seemingly unimportant to you details. But it was an opportunity to evaluate whether or not I could handle being in close confined quarters with the Chief for any length of time. And I can. Victory for team me! *High Fives*

I look forward to finding a balance between his schedule and habits and mine. To sharing sinks for teeth brushing, and showers to wake up. To cooking together and doing dishes. To laundry and road trips and makeup sex. To all the quirky firsts that are yet to come. To the future.
