Chasing Sunshine

You've all heard the Monty Python "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" right? Yes. Well this week my Dad proved just how bright things needed to look. After planning a camping trip, we were all packed for a weekend at the lake. I had my books, my flip flops, my lake tanks and sweats. I was totally and completely prepared for a week spent roasting marshmallows and sitting by the fire, reading my book with my toes in the lake, sunburns, and bush pies. The long range forecast at the lake called for rain, so we checked out a few other lakes. All rain. What a bummer right? Wrong. So we get in the vehicle, lake stuff packed, ready to go to the lake anyway. Where do we wind up? In Minot. SO not the lake.

We went shopping, more shopping, looked at housing, toured the campus (Thanks to W for an awesome tour, despite getting locked out of the dorms!) did some more shopping, got myself some new books which I was thrilled with! Laurel K Hamilton I love you! (Can't wait to take Blood Noir to the lake!) All of the events were done dressed in flip flops and lake clothes, not shopping and making good impression clothes.

Warning to the shopping savvy: Flip flops are not made for four days of shopping and touring potential campuses. (You should see the utterly and completely rank blisters I got. Ick. Compounded by pool water and by continuing to walk because I was not being left behind in the hotel room!)

Rainy day, no problem. And none of this staycation stuff either. If it's raining and your on holidays I highly suggest Chasing Sunshine!
