Wall.E

OMG!! New favorite movie!!

So my sister came home this weekend from the camp she's working as a photographer at, which was awesome! She's pretty much there all summer, which is kinda a downer since she's usually my lake buddy when my family goes away. Good thing Mom and Dad had other kids. *Lol* Anyway! So she came home this weekend with the agenda stating that the only planned activity for the weekend was going to the theater so see Wall.E! (Eeee!! I was totally psyched! I was trying to find any younger relative I could to take to this as an excuse to see it, I was literally minutes away from volunteering to take a strangers kids to the movies. Mhmm, that desperate.)

We arrived at the theater 30 mins or so early, so we could get tickets, seats and snacks and still catch the previews. Nope, not happening. We waltz in to a line almost out the door. Get tickets. Stand in another line that takes for gawd forsaken ever to get through and miss the majority of the previews, standing at the back trying to find the rest of my party while keeping an eye on the new Pixar short film. Stumble to my seat in time for the opening credits. Have I ever told you how very very impatient I can be? Oh yes I'll smile and pretend it's not driving me stark raving mad that the 16 something who is only working so she can buy a new brandname something or another can't manage to scoop popcorn into a pre-set out bucket, but deep deep down I'm ready to jump behind the counter serve the next 15 people and still make better time than it would have taken me in just waiting. But let's not get distracted here! Wall.E!!

Cutest movie ever created to comment on the lazy and horrible habits that humanity is falling into. The way he says his name, the way he dotes on Eve. The way he likes musicals, and collecting neat things, the way he likes to share things with his partner, and cares for his pet, and watches the stars, and dances and.. why can't the robot be real? Sounds better than most of my previous boys. How sad. *tear* But really. The movie has this incredible way of invoking emotion without speech. The majority of the movie is completely devoid of recognizable communication. Wall.E and Eve talking in one word robot exchanges, but for the most part utilize body.. robot.. language, sounds, and music to convey the meaning held in each scene. It was just.. heartbreaking. I mean I'm kinda a sop to start with, and love anything Disney, but this movie had me giggling, crying, outraged, and heartbroken. Incredible. Just incredible... now where were those stranger kids to take to the theater...
