First impressions are everything. When you look at this book, it brings to mind sensuality, and seduction. Wrapped in a pink satin, with silk screened images of flowers and with a wooden bead closure, it truly is a beautiful book, and that's merely looking at it. "Kama Sutra: The Perfect Bedside Companion" is a delightful little travel book. Taking it with us on holidays we often read select parts throughout the drive, making us both eager to reach our destination. We looked forward to trying the different chapters (On biting, on kissing, on scratching, on embracing... ect). Once we read the chapters it was our goal to try and master all the techniques from each section before moving on. It became a game that was more than pleasurable for both of us.
But not everything is fun and games. It managed to be inspirational AND educational at the same time, which I find supremely impressive! It allows to you learn more about the intimate details of foreplay and intercourse, yet displaying how through each aspect you were reaching a more spiritual level simultaneously. It spoke a lot on the spirituality of sexuality, and how knowing your lover, and being a good lover is one of the keys to become successful at everything you choose to do. (Which sounds silly, but if you really think about it.. I mean if your constantly taking the time to educate yourself on your surroundings, the likes, dislikes, habits and such of those around you it brings you closer together to people, it allows you to get ahead in a working atmosphere..ect). It challenges both partners to be attentive to their lover, to learn about the things their partner finds pleasurable, and how to maximize these reactions, while at the same time maximizing the overall all satisfaction of the the experiences!
The only thing I was slightly disappointed by was the lack of pictures. I'm a picture girl. I like reading the instructions for things and then referencing what I just read with pictures. The artwork is beautiful, and erotic, but not it's not overly 'descriptive' (Although to be fair the language more than makes up for the lack of pictures, and really.. sometimes it's just more fun using your imagination and making your own way!). If your willing to read it you'll learn volumes, if your more a picture book person, I wouldn't suggest this particular version.
